John Cook interior designer
John Cook (BA (Hons) Int Des), originally from the UK, studied design at the North London School of Architecture and Interior Design, qualifying as an Interior Designer following a 4.5 year Honours Degree course. A keen interest in design naturally led to working on interiors and domestic architecture. A move to London to join a private Architectural practice in Mayfair as Interior Designer involved working with all aspects of interiors and project administration for projects in London, the UK and overseas properties for individual clients, Interior Designers and the London Estates.

Jean-Maurice Siu, originally from New Caledonia, moved to Paris in 1988 and relocated to southern France in 2004. Interested in all aspects of design and with a keen eye for the unusual, actively takes part in the sourcing of materials and furnishings. Jean-Maurice also provides an administrative link between contractors, suppliers and client to ensure a smooth, efficient and enjoyable design experience.

The Village House architecture d'interieur business was formed to utilise the skills of interior design to provide an affordable, economic and practical approach to domestic refurbishments, designing and project managing the conversion, renovation, restructuring and architectural planning of both contemporary and traditional homes.

Working in the Languedoc region of France on domestic refurbishments, we offer a total design service with a reputation for professionalism and excellence of design, bringing commitment to each project and an attention to quality of finish and detail, with a talent for creating elegant rooms combining traditional French, English and contemporary styles.

Furniture, fittings, colour schemes and fabrics are carefully designed or chosen to reflect the clients taste, creating a versatile, diverse, often classic style producing a finished result that is practical, visually exciting, considered and elegant.

Specialising in the refurbishment of residential interiors we build strong working relationships with clients, local artisans and suppliers as well as using our experience of international suppliers to benefit from a wider choice of products and materials.

The Village House has a background in architecture with a particular expertise in bespoke rooms and furniture, such as studies, dressing rooms and bathrooms.

Bespoke elements are designed to meet demanding briefs and our attention to detail covers all aspects of finished homes. We follow through all our designs on site or with artisans to ensure the best possible detail and finish.

We concentrate on providing a personal and tailored service to clients, understanding their brief to achieve unique and pleasurable environments, giving value for money, enjoyment and peace of mind.

We provide full design drawings as appropriate with notated scale drawings and schedules issued to contractors along with a complete administrative service to aid a smooth running project.

Part of our expertise includes project managing with regular updates to our clients along with photographs, our intimate knowledge of each project enables us to make on-site decisions with the complete confidence of our clients.
