A maison de Maitre, split vertically in two at the end of the 2nd world war. The left wing now has new owners who asked The Village House to step in after realising that the house they had acquired for their holiday home needed some drastic interventions. Sadly once again the interiors had been shockingly 'bricolaged' and in places were clearly dangerous. A new kitchen and bathroom were necessary, the bathroom was rebuilt and re-designed including relocating the walls and creating a laundry room and storage. The plumbing and electrics were overhauled and a new second bathroom is planned for the attic along with a reconfiguration to create a landing area. A major feature is a new commissioned staircase designed by The Village House to replace the lethal and unattractive one that existed. Works including complete decorations were completed in the first two quarters of 2009 ready for the owners to enjoy their summer holidays. |
