The Village House interior design - Village House renovation Languedoc

Interior Design Languedoc

Hidden in the centre of an historic village close to Pezenas, a modest stone building over two floors of 30m2 plus a small cave under, was waiting for someone to fall under is neglected charms. This poor building, originally conceived for animals had more recently been badly and dangerously 'bricolaged'. It was time to get back to the stones and start again with a complete new layout and a number of structural re-inforcements along with opening up a stairway internally to the cave below to extend the living space.

The finished home is now sound and insulated with new floors, ceilings, electrical and plumbing installations, shower room and kitchen. A number of bespoke items were designed including a steel staircase to the lower ground cave and a mezzanine platform and cabin beds on the first floor. The ancient charm of the building was enhanced at the same time as providing modern practicalities.
